Unlocking Giving in a Digital World

A two-hour interactive masterclass on Unlocking Giving in a Digital World for fundraisers, senior leaders and board members

The way people engage, connect, and give has changed and continues to change. This masterclass explores how organisations can unlock digital giving by investing in technology, data, content, and storytelling alongside an investment in people, culture and mindsets to maximise the opportunities offered in a digital world.

The session is designed for Individual Giving leaders, digital communications practitioners who want to learn about digital fundraising and fundraisers who want to improve their understanding of digital fundraising.

In this session, we will delve into:

Understanding Major Donor Motivations: Delve into the motivations
Expectations, and decision-making processes of donors
Exploring the 5 steps of the Donor Cycle: identifying, qualifying, cultivating
Soliciting, and stewarding major donors for long-term engagement
Overcoming Common Challenges: Address obstacles such as donor reluctance
Internal misalignment, and sustaining donor interest

Learning Outcomes

By the end of this masterclass, participants will:

Understand how people, culture, technology, and storytelling interact to shape effective digital fundraising, and why progress depends on aligning all four rather than fixing one in isolation.
Participants will gain a shared understanding of the core components of effective digital fundraising—including supporter focus, appropriate use of technology, data-informed decision-making, and continuous improvement.
Participants will be able to assess their current digital fundraising capability, identifying strengths, gaps, and cultural or structural barriers that limit impact.

This session will be an expert-led Masterclass with a limited audience. Prior registration will be mandatory and will open in February.
