THE ILSS EMERGING WOMEN’S LEADERSHIP PROGRAM

The Emerging Women’s Leadership Program (EWLP) is an intensive 11-week program designed to support the leadership development journeys of emerging women leaders in the social sector. The Program equips leaders with the necessary knowledge, skills, and tools to advance their leadership journey, and create impact in the sector.

Program Outcomes

The ILSS Emerging Women’s Leadership Program (EWLP) aims to help participants with the following :

Understanding Gender

A deep awareness of various lenses through which gender plays a role in women achieving their maximum potential

Understanding the Self

Increased confidence and conviction to advance one’s career

Knowledge, Skills & Attitudes

Building one’s own knowledge bank on leadership that includes a range of tools, templates and frameworks as well as other resources

Capacity Building

Build competencies that are necessary for women to be successful leaders in the social sector

Peer Community Network

Access to a community of people championing their success, including peers and coaches

Personal Development Plan

A Personal Development Plan on how to apply learnings post the program at work and beyond

Program Curriculum

Module 1: Decoding Gender in the Workplace

This module will examine the social and systemic power structures at play which shape the way women experience, and move through, contemporary Indian society. It will build an understanding of key concepts of gender, sexuality and intersectionality, and unpack dynamics of gender in the workplace, and how it impacts one as a woman in this space.

Module 2: Leading Self & Others


Through a deep examination of the self-limiting beliefs which women experience, participants will undergo an introspective journey which brings to the fore their own interpretations of personal values, and how to build their leadership style. This module will also focus on delving into the nuances of communication, and the art of storytelling. It will highlight how to grow one’s capabilities in leading the self and others, focused on the nuances as a woman.

Module 3: Leading Movements

The final module will outline how to build leadership for change at an organisational level, and beyond. It will best enable our participants to interact and network with the social sector ecosystem to affect change, including building networking skills, and a strong understanding of how to transform ideas into action.

FORMATS OF LEARNING


The curriculum is built to integrate a range of different learning formats and styles, drawing from expert knowledge to on-ground research and case studies, as well as peer-to-peer learning. This will include learning from:
- Self including self-assessments and reflection journals
- Peers including small group discussions, practice circles and peer feedback
- Leaders including workshops, coaching, lectures, and panel discussions
- Published knowledge including books, articles, and case studies
