The ILSS Leadership Program (ILSS LP) is a 9-day immersive leadership program designed for senior professionals from the private sector, defence services, and bureaucracy. The Program is dedicated to empowering leaders who aspire to be at the forefront of building a more equitable and just society.

Pedagogy

The ILSS Leadership Program pedagogy is designed to empower leaders with a learning experience that bridges theory and practice. Rooted in systems thinking, it emphasises interactive and participatory methods such as case-study-based learning, problem-solving exercises, and peer collaboration to address real-world challenges. Through expert-led sessions and action learning projects, participants apply concepts to their organisations, driving tangible impact.

Key Program Outcomes

The ILSS Leadership Program learning outcomes are designed to ensure that participants not only grasp the theoretical foundations of Social Sector Leadership but also develop the practical skills and critical thinking necessary to navigate the complexities of the sector effectively.


  • Sectoral Understanding:To unravel the social sector landscape and interpret the analytical insights in light of complex social realities.

  • Understanding self vis-à-vis the sector: To develop a sound understanding of one’s own strengths and vulnerabilities and hone the qualities of adaptive leadership in the social sector

  • Critique piecemeal approach to problem solving To adopt a systems thinking lens whilst approaching India’s development challenges, critically appreciating the boundaries and interconnections between problems, and formulate solutions that are inclusive, holistic, and sustainable

  • Engagement in the Sector: To prepare for and navigate full-time, part-time, or internships engagements effectively, by understanding the dynamics, expectations, and pathways of contributing within the social sector.
