Ashif Shaikh is co-founder Jan Sahas. He has 20-years of experience in working towards safe migration and ending violence against women through eradication of practice of manual scavenging, commercial sexual exploitation of children and also supporting survivors of rape, trafficking and sexual abuse and helping them access to justice in India. Jan Sahas has liberated and rehabilitated 66,000 people from manual scavenging and other forms of forced labour, is also supporting 24,000 survivors of rape and sexual violence. Ashif is leading a Migrant Resilience Collaborative (MRC) and working with 1.5 million migrant households. He is a member of various committees of NITI Aayog, Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment and other ministries of Government of India, and has received various national and international awards and fellowships including Schwab Foundation Social Innovator Award 2020, Ashoka Fellowship, Times of India Social Impact Award and the Star Impact Award by Bill Clinton, for his work.
