Building Nonprofit Data Systems

Most nonprofits aren’t starting from AI. They’re starting from spreadsheet chaos.
This session gives you one clear framework – MAP: Model → Align → Power with AI and a practical walkthrough from fragmented data to usable, AI-ready systems.

WHAT YOU'LL WALK AWAY WITH

Three Shifts This Session Unlocks

01

From Spreadsheet Chaos to a Trustworthy Data Model

A simple way to think about nonprofit data systems. How to define what data actually matters starting from your Theory of Change, not your current forms.

02

From Fragmented Reporting to One Source of Truth

What it takes to align your tools, teams, and data flows so field entry reaches leadership and donor reports are generated in minutes, not days.

03

One concrete next step.

How to assess your organisation’s data maturity, identify workflows that could benefit from AI once the right foundations are in place, and take one concrete next step.

Walk Away With Clarity, Tools, and a Clear Next Step

01

A Clear View of Your Current Data Maturity

Through the MAP Data Audit, attendees will assess where their organisation stands across Model, Align, and Power with AI.
They will be able to identify whether their biggest gap is in data clarity, system adoption, workflow alignment, or AI readiness and understand what needs to be fixed first.

02

A Simple Way to Structure Program Data

Attendees will learn the Data Model Sequence a practical approach to structuring program data from Theory of Change → indicators → data points → decisions.
Instead of seeing data only as reporting, they will understand how to design data systems that support better decisions, stronger accountability, and easier adoption across teams.

03

A Practical AI Readiness Map for Your Workflows

Attendees will map their existing workflows against four practical AI use areas: Collect Faster, Build Faster, Work Smarter, and Know Faster.

IS THIS FOR YOU?

Three Roles That Gain the Most

This session is designed for practitioners people who deal with data problems daily, not those planning future systems in the abstract.

Program, M&E
& Data Managers

NGOs, social enterprises,
development organisations

Get a framework to stop rebuilding reports from scratch. Leave with a diagnostic of where your data system is actually broken and which part to fix first.

Digital, Technology
& IT Leads

Nonprofit evaluating or implementing
data tools

Understand why most implementations fail before the tool is chosen and how to sequence the Model and Align work that makes AI adoption actually stick.

CEOs, Executive
Directors & Founders

Impact orgs where "AI strategy" is
on the agenda

Know what questions to ask your team before investing in AI. Understand what "data readiness" actually means and whether your organisation has it yet.

What's coming UP next

A year of learning built for the sector

Each session brings a practitioner and a room full of peers to work through one challenge most nonprofits are dealing with right now.

Common Questions

Yes, and arguably more so. The MAP framework was specifically designed for organisations that are starting from fragmented or informal data systems, not those that already have structured infrastructure. The session’s Poll 1 diagnostic consistently shows that the majority of attendees are at the spreadsheet-heavy stage. You do not need a data team or a prior tool to get value from this session, you need a Theory of Change and a willingness to think about what decisions your data actually needs to support.
Yes, often more so. Many organisations with tools in place still struggle with adoption, fragmented data flows between field teams and leadership, or uncertainty about where AI fits into what they have built. The MAP diagnostic is specifically designed to identify which stage of the sequence is your weakest link, regardless of what tools you are currently using. Participants in this position frequently leave with a clearer view of why their current system is underperforming and what to fix first.
The session is priced at ₹3,000 + GST per participant. For organisational reimbursement, an invoice can be provided on request. If you are bringing 3 or more colleagues, write to us at dtsi@indialeadersforsocialsector.com for group pricing. The most common internal framing participants use: this is a structured 2.5-hour working session, not a webinar – attendees leave with a completed diagnostic and a specific next step for their organisation, not a set of slides to review later.
The session is being designed to maintain a working-session format rather than a broadcast. Attendees typically include M&E and programme managers, technology leads, and CEOs or Executive Directors from NGOs, social enterprises, and development organisations across India. The session is deliberately peer-level – facilitated by a practitioner, with live polls and open Q&A that reflect the actual challenges in the room.
You leave with following concrete outputs: a MAP Data Audit of your organisation’s current position, the Data Model Sequence framework applied to your programme context, and an AI Readiness Map identifying which workflows are ready for AI now and which need foundation work first.
