ILSS ANNUAL ALUMNI WEEKEND

Date : December 2019

Venue : Delhi NCR

We held the 2nd edition of our alumni weekend on December 6 and 7, 2019 with our alumni from across locations coming in for 2 days of learning, sharing and celebration. The event kicked off with an engaging session with Mr. Manish Sisodia, Dep. Chief Minister of Delhi followed by dinner and interactions with alumni and guests.

The second day started off with a fun and interactive session with Andrew Hoffman, theater personality, teacher and voiceover artist. The session served as an ice breaker and got our alumni from across batches to open up and get to know each other better. This was followed by a session with Vivek Sharma, Program Director, Gandhi Fellowship, Kaivalya Education Foundation. He shared his experiences of working in the social sector and spoke to our alumni about the functional challenges that they are very likely to encounter transitioning into the social sector. Some of our alumni also shared their experiences of working in the sector and voiced some of their concerns, which were tried to address in the conversations that followed.

We also had Dr. Meeran Borwankar, IPS, DGP (retd) share some very thought-provoking insights into the Indian criminal justice system, inspiring conversations on work that can be done on that front by the social sector.

Keeping up with our belief of ILSS being a shared journey, with our alumni playing a critical role in how we think of our learning programs, our founder, Anu Prasad updated the alumni on our growth plans and sought their feedback on how we can create more learning opportunities for them. Some very rich conversations emerged in this evening of brainstorming, ideation and inspiration.

The weekend ended on a high note with dinner and conversations with Ashish Dhawan, Philanthropist and Chairman, Central Square Foundation.
