Receiving the scholarship from #ILSSAlumni allowed me to attend the ILSS training, even in my eighth month of pregnancy, and it truly changed my life. The support gave me the chance to not only participate but also grow as a leader and make a bigger impact in my community. The skills and insights I gained are already helping me create real change on the ground. I’m so grateful for this opportunity, and I encourage others to apply – it’s an experience that can really empower you to make a difference.

My bias in philanthropy is to commit mostly my time and some money towards catalytic activities in the social sector as that hopefully generates a disproportionate impact. What ILSS does is 100% catalytic, and alumni giving is a great way to express gratitude and go forward in my own journey in the sector

ILSS brings to mind the old adage: ‘Give a man a fish, and you feed him for a day; teach a man to fish, and you feed him for a lifetime’. Attending the fundraising course emphasised the importance of this approach. It inspired me to support ILSS in helping NGOs build their capacity, allowing dedicated founders to run their missions more effectively and without struggle
