“ILSS is designed to benefit the best minds out there who want to make a difference. We want great minds who are passionate about driving change. And this country needs them even more.”
'Human capital is the most valuable asset in the social sector. Developing an effective human capital strategy enables nonprofits to grow, scale, and achieve greater impact'.

Who we are
Our Founding Story
India Leaders for Social Sector (ILSS) is an initiative by Central Square Foundation (CSF), in partnership with the Indian School of Development Management (ISDM), to bridge the senior leadership talent gap in the social sector.
To drive scale, sustainability and impact, the social sector needs professional talent. With a wide range of complex problems to be addressed and increased funding coming in, it offers a plethora of opportunities for individuals to grow while making a positive contribution to the society.
The talent in the senior leadership of top corporate houses, armed forces, government services, etc. is most competent to address the issues plaguing the social sector. With years of experience in strategic problem solving, results orientation and talent management under their belts, these leaders, given the right platform and support, can do wonders for the country’s development. India Leaders for Social Sector aims to achieve just that.
ILSS is also building a repository of information about the sector, to allow knowledge sharing and collaboration, showcase success stories from the sector, benchmark best practices, address perceptions and highlight leadership role models. By identifying possibilities, challenges and rewards of the social sector, the ILSS platform aims to create an informed movement of leadership talent for the sector.
