Country Director (India), Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation
In his role as Director, India Country Office, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, Nachiket Mor oversees the foundation's efforts to improve family health, sanitation, financial inclusion, and agriculture in India. Nachiket Mor is a Yale World Fellow. He has a postgraduate diploma in management from the IIM-Ahmedabad and a PhD in economics from the University of Pennsylvania, with a specialization in finance from the Wharton School. He was a member of the Planning Commission’s High-Level Expert Group on Universal Health Care, the Primary Care Task Force of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, and the Task Force on Global Health at the Academy of Medicine in Washington DC. He is currently a member of the Health Commission for the State of Himachal Pradesh. He worked with ICICI for almost 20 years and was also a member of its Board of Directors. He was also Board Chair of the Fixed Income Money Market & Derivatives Association and helped launch the National Commodities and Derivatives Exchange (NCDEX). He was also a member of the Boards of the RBI, NABARD, and MUDRA. For the RBI, he chaired the Eastern Area Local Board and was a member of its Board for Financial Supervision. He continues to be a member of the RBI Boards.
