ILSS alumnus Sanjeev Dhand has joined Quality Council of India (QCI) as a Senior Advisor, supporting the monitoring programmes for various initiatives such as Swachh Bharat, rural electrification, Ganga clean-up, hospital certifications, and so on.
Following a career spanning more than 30 years in banking, Sanjeev turned towards the social sector in the past four years, starting as an advisor to a solar equipment manufacturer whose sole focus was to bring ‘light and clean energy’ and provide a platform for livelihoods to the dark and energy deficient areas of India.
Travelling across India also brought him face-to-face with the stark realities on the ground, which strengthened his resolve to do his bit towards bringing about change. He went on engage with some NGOs, helping raise funds and providing consulting services.
Attending the ILSS launch event in November 2017 in Mumbai was a turning point, says Sanjeev, who went on to sign up for the August 2018 edition of the ILSS Leadership Program. That, according to him, launched him into a full-fledged journey in the social sector.
“There’s a huge sense of satisfaction as I find myself being a part of such meaningful transformations that are happening on the ground, some in the remotest parts of the country,” says Sanjeev.”I wish more corporate professionals would move to this very meaningful space and assist in creating the huge transformation that humanity needs today.”
